The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Mood: Panic
Listening to: Seether - Burrito

I forgot to do this when we first made it, but me and my sister made a blog for all of our Shimeji, so.. here it is: [link] It gets updated more than my DA page with Shimeji xDD I decided to finish my masato Shimeji that I started quite some time ago, so you can see his first frame on the blog (I have 19 frames done so far~) and after him I will continue working on Sakurai Atsushi

I finally got used to my new wireless mouse, so I hope these Shimeji look good when I finish them~ xDD I'm still trying to learn how to make them look clear and smooth.. I figured out my problem with their lines though~
I still have the list of Shimeji to do on my computer, but I think it got mixed up with who comes first.. .___. I'm going to be focusing on Shimeji more now to make up for all the time I lost when I got my new computer (and wireless mouse) and had to take a break from drawing to get used to all the new stuff. @ w @ I've had more than enough time, so I can promise that there will be more Shimeji's in my gallery soon~
